Safely Combining Cats And Plants

"Did you know cats make great gardening companions? We like nothing better than getting our paws into the earth. A sneaky nibble here and a munch there keeps the planting in shape. Before you know it we are gardening like the best of them. There has been a lot of activity lately getting the garden tidy for winter and planting spring bulbs for next year."

Bear in mind that some plants are best avoided

Did you know that lilies can cause serious health problems and may kill cats, and they don't even have to be eaten to do this? If a cat even brushes past one, gets pollen on its fur then licks the pollen off when it grooms itself, it could be in danger.

Benefits of keeping houseplants

Benefits of keeping houseplants for you (remember what is good for you is also good for your feline friend). According to a NASA study, research proves plants cleanse the air of toxins such as formaldehyde found in many household goods such as carpets and furniture. Spider plants are particularly good at doing this; an extra bonus to spider plants is their compatibility with our feline friends.
Boost Oxygen: More air means more energy and relaxation. They can absorb the static electricity given off by computers and other electrical equipment. And reduce air borne dust in the home .
Healing: They reduce headaches, blocked sinuses, skin irritations and much more; indeed, the very presence of plants has been shown to increase positive feelings and reduce feelings of anxiety, anger and sadness.
Absorb Noise: Big plants of all kind especially large - leafed varieties at the edge of a room.
